How does training happen?

nce you commit to participating, you will be required to complete training. We are holding these trainings on college campuses across Alabama in January. If you wish to become a Catalyst (Certified Application Counselor), you will need to undergo an additional application process and government mandated training online.

When do I start? How long am I expected to volunteer?

We are always looking for volunteers. During January and February, we will be traveling across the state promoting Bama Covered and offering training sessions for our volunteers. You can start on any of the training days. We ask volunteers to commit once a week until March 31. If you are participating for class credit, your university may have additional requirements.  Email us or monitor our upcoming events web page to see when we will be on your campus!  

What am I paying for?

If requested, we can work to arrange reimbursement for expenses such as in-state travel costs.

How will the technology work?

Using publicly available data, we are building an interface that will help volunteers target the uninsured and record their contact details if they are interested. We are also building an interactive map to highlight the work of our partner organizations all throughout the state. We will respect all privacy laws and standards.
